Overview

The Smith first opened its East Village doors in 2007 and has since expanded to 5 power house locations in 10 years. The concept is simple - have a casual sleek environment with a huge crowd pleasing menu, and they will come. Each location is consistently packed with large groups of beautiful young New Yorkers. Try to get a seat during happy hour or brunch, I dare you. The menu reads like a who's who of American comfort food classics served in large portions for a decent price. I'm talking hot potato chips smothered in blue cheese fonue, fried green tomatoes, and arguably the best mac & cheese in the city. If you want to be healthy for some reason, there is actually an ample salad selection. Breakfast, lunch & dinner are served 7 days/week. This is not a place for a romantic date; re: VERY LOUD. Don't take your old Jewish dad here for a quiet brunch like I once did. It is however a lot of fun with a group and always hits the spot.
