ChouChou is located in a relatively restaurant-free zone of Alphabet City on 4th street. Once inside you'll find a cozy space that is reminiscent of being inside a cave (like if the cave was romantic, softly lit and full of wine). What separates ChouChou from other Moroccan restaurants would be the thoughtful plating of the food. Menu items arrive in beautifully vibrate dishes from Morocco. Entrees are served with seasonal mezze and warm pita for dipping. You'll eat contemporary takes on classic Mediterranean favorites like lobster tagine, lamb chop couscous, and Moroccan pastries.
